Tax Forms 2023 🤓

The 2023 tax forms are now available. LodgeiT will automatically create new forms for you in a few days. We will ensure that relevant field values will roll forward from 2022 returns. Check out the ATO's overview of key changes.

Please note that pre-filling data is available for tax returns from 1 July as ATO receives it, with most data being available by the end of July.

Advanced Financial Reports 🚀

We've been working hard to build the next generation of financial reporting.

You can buy a package or pay per report. Prices start just at $6.59 per report if you buy a package. Please note that purchased reports expire within the subscription period. Check your billing page for detailed pricing.

You still can use the basic version of financial reports for free.

Teams & Client Access 🔒

Now you can easily configure and see who is responsible for particular clients by organising colleagues into teams and assigning them to client groups or clients. We have also introduced an outside collaborator role, who can only access the clients and work they are assigned to.

Default Contact Source on Tax Returns 📞

Now you can configure a default contact source on a tax return separately for a postal address, phone and email. You can configure it to automatically populate with your details, client details or carry forward them from a prior year tax return. Additionally, you can override any option in the client settings.

Activity Statement Substantiation Declaration 📃

We added an option to include the substantiation declaration for activity statements.

SMS Two-Factor Authentication 📲

We highly recommend switching your second-factor authentication to an authenticator app, as SMS is not a reliable way to do it. You can change it in your account settings. 

For new users, SMS as the second-factor authentication is not available anymore.

BGL Simple Fund 360 is an intelligent, cloud-based SMSF software for accountants to efficiently manage the administration of self-managed superannuation funds.

Today, we are happy to announce that we now support importing SMSF annual tax returns from BGL SimpleFund 360. This feature can only be used for 2022FY onwards. Read our help guide for more details.

ATO SmartDocs integration

We are delighted to announce that we've integrated with the ATO SmartDocs. You can now export your LodgeiT client and tax return lists and import them into the ATO SmartDocs. See the Export page for available export options.

2023 Fringe benefits tax (FBT) return

The 2023 Fringe benefits tax (FBT) return is now available to prepare. You can lodge it from1st April 2023.

Other changes

• Batch actions to assign/reset tags for accounts.
• Select where to allocate franked distribution deductions on the Trust Tax Return.
• Add more than one row to the capital proceeds field on the CGT worksheet.
• Rollover borrowing worksheets on the Company Tax Return to the future years.
• We added "Primary Contact Name" and "Primary Contact Email" fields to the clients export.
• Export tax forms for archived clients.

ATOmate integration

We are happy to announce our integration with ATOmate. Now you can export your LodgeiT client and tax return lists and import it into ATOmate. Read the help guide.

Division 293 worksheet

We added a worksheet to calculate additional tax on concessional contributions (Division 293). You can find the worksheet on the ITR Estimate section.

Weekly and fortnightly hire purchase

Now you can add HPs with weekly and fortnightly payment periods.

BGL Simple Fund integration beta

Proof of identity and client verification details

We added new section to record all client verification details you need to keep as per TPB Practice Note 5/2022 Proof of identity requirements for client verification. You can find it on the client settings page.

FTER and IEE for 2021-2022 FY

We added support for FTER and IEE returns for 2021-2022 financial years. 

Foreign rent worksheet

You can now add Foreign Rent Worksheets on ITR 2020-2022.

Save print profile on forms

Now LodgeiT automatically saves your latest print options as your personal print profile on all tax returns.

Other updates

• All linked depreciation schedules to Rental worksheets are added to a co-owner tax return print. 
• The Total listed investment company capital gain deduction from dividends amount from Dividends Worksheet is automatically transferred to D8 on ITR form.
• The Has your postal address changed since completing your last tax return? question was added to ITR form.
• The ATO Benchmark is available on lodged ITR forms.

Tax Return Updates

• Now you can add Do not import on tax return tag to your line items in order not to import it to a tax return.
• LodgeiT can now import financials to forms with SAP period.
• We added new depreciation category for PSI to fill deprecaiation on ITR PSI section.
• Add negative adjustments for Opening and Closing stock fields on all tax returns.
• We made significant improvements to our CGT worksheet. Read more here.
• We added an option to add DRAFT watermark to tax returns in PDF.

SPFR Updates

• If the option page numbers is on, LodgeiT renders page numbers on the contents page.
• We added an option to add DRAFT watermark to your financials statements in PDF. 

Hey everyone! We released importand updates for CGT worksheets: Cost base split, Main residence exemption and multiple exemption or rollover codes per worksheet.

Cost base

Work out a cost base of an asset by splitting its costs into 5 elements. Please note that since now Capital proceeds is the amount of money received as a result of a CGT event.

Main residence exemption

FInally, you can apply full or partial main residence exemption. In order to apply the examption use the Less main residence exemption field. Please note, you have to calculate the exemption amount manually.

Exemption or rollover code

Now you can select mutliple exemption or rollover codes directly on a worksheet.

Reset Two-Factor Authentication

Now you can reset Two-Factor Authentication for you team members in case if they lost an access to their phone or authenticator. A member will be able to setup two-factor authentication next time they sign in. 

If yourself lost an access to your phone you should contact our support. They will be happy to help you with getting your access back.

Display Name in Client Emails

By default all client emails are sent with your trading or individual name as a display name. You can override the name on your Email Settings page. It doesn't work with Microsoft. You can change the name in your Microsoft account instead.

SPFR Improvements

We made it available to add and modify formulas in your financials statements. If you need to manually type values, use Manual fields.

Depreciation

Enter up to 4 fraction digits in depreciation rate to make your depreciation calculation more accurate.

Tax Forms 2022

The 2022 Tax forms are now available. LodgeiT will automatically create new forms for you in few days. We will ensure that relevant field values including work-related deductions and rental property addresses will roll forward from 2021 returns. Take a look at the ATO overview of key changes.

ITR ATO Benchmark

The individual income tax return ATO benchmark is an optional feature for current-year returns only. Based on client's occupation, it allows you to receive real-time messages for your clients regarding income and deductions that are unexpected.

Messaging for clients is available for the following labels: interest income and dividend income, work-related expenses, cost of managing tax affairs – other expenses incurred, other deductions – other (D15), rental interest, cost of sales and total expenses for sole traders.

ATO Benchmark will be available on 1st July.

Customize SPFR Financials

Now you can modify a structure of financials on SPFR. Add, rename, delete, drag & drop, collapse groups and line items to get a look you need. 

Additionally, you can duplicate your reports to keep changes for the next reporting period.

QuickBooks Import for BAS Analysers

Import BAS figures from QuickBooks into GST Trade, Payroll and Pay/Refund analysers to find different facts faster and easier. 

Other Improvements

• Export all client relationships to CSV an Excel.
• Integrated account validator now allows summing of any values through a given timeframe by selected type.
• Lodgment and payment due dates as e-sign template variables.
