Here's what's new in Lodgeit this month, plus one change to MYOB connections you should know about.

🧮 Tax to accounting depreciation

We're migrating the depreciation tool from tax depreciation to accounting depreciation. Migration is now open for all your clients.

There are three ways to move a client's assets across:

• Auto-copy creates the assets in accounting depreciation straight away, keeping your existing group structure and mapping tax methods to their accounting equivalents.
• Download the CSV, review it, and upload it if you'd rather check the mapped values, or set residual values, before anything is created.
• The Asset transform tool fills that CSV with suggested accounting methods, rates, and effective lives drawn from the ATO effective life tables, which you then review before you upload.

Pool assets need individual depreciation methods, rates, and effective lives before they can move to accounting depreciation. Use the Asset transform tool or enter your own values.

Tax depreciation in the assets register becomes read-only on 1 January 2027 and is retired on 1 July 2027, so complete your migration by 30 June 2027.

🔀 Compare a tax return with its amendments

You can now compare a tax return against its amendments, not just against the prior year. The Compare with… button opens a list of the versions available for that return, each showing its year and status, so you can check what changed between an original return and an amendment without opening both side by side.

⚠️ MYOB connections now require administrator access

MYOB changed its access rules on 1 September 2026. Existing authorisations are no longer valid, so each MYOB company file has to be connected again, and only a user with Administrator access to that file can approve the connection. An adviser login can no longer do it.

This requirement is set by MYOB and applies to any software connecting to a company file, so it isn't something we can change on our side. MYOB's notice about the change is here.
